Meeting Notes

Monday 27th February 2023 – Night and low light photography by Tony Worobiec FRPS

Tony gave us a masterful introduction to the use of low light photography in genres including landscape, astrophotography, architecture, industrial plants, funfairs, shop signs and portraits, showing how to exploit the situations to make a range of dramatic and beautiful images.

Of particular interest was his technique of measuring the luminance of the naturally lit areas of a scene with those lit by artificial sources to shoot at the point of crossover, thus giving the optimum exposure for all areas.

Tony’s book on Low Light and Night Photography can be found on Amazon.   Tony’s website also provides an insight into his work in this area.
