15th February 2021 -“Abstract, Pattern and Art in your Eyes” – Damon Guy

First we learned what is NOT an abstract photographically but then Damon explained in depth the relationship between abstract in art and photography. There were a lot of thought provoking images. Some that stuck in my mind were

• the stick leaning against the wall
• the zigzag shadow on the steps
• the toilet seat
• the long flight of steps
• the cornfield seedlings in rows showing the undulation of the field.

I could go on! The meeting was very informative and inspirational. It shows what can be done from home or in your locality as Caroline has been demonstrating for years!

We can expect ‘abstract’ as a theme in one of our competitions sometime!
