Robert Pugh was our first speaker of this season. His talk centred around creativity which lead into his images using Lensbaby lenses. He explained about finding your tonal palette and showed how he went about finding his. This lead into his descriptions about how his cameras were set up for doing “everything” in camera. With 70+ weddings a year generating “perfect” JPGs is a definite requirement.

Angela Nickolsen had brought an immense collection of Lensbaby lenses for us to look at the break. Shame that none of us had a camera to try them out!

Later, we learnt about an application called After Shoot which Robert uses to pick automatically the “winners”, Capture One vs Adobe(!), advice on manual focussing, focus peaking and lighting setups for studio work.
