There was a good turn out for the second round of the internal PDI competition given the snowy and icy conditions – thanks to everyone who made the effort.

Amanda Miller LRPS CPAGB judged the 27 competition images and 12 “for comments” images with great aplomb. She was struggling with dreadful cold and cough so it was fortunate that we had arranged to have her Zoom in to present her appraisals of our images. She did an outstanding job and provided enthusiastic and insightful comments covering the full range of genre’s on display.

Unusually, a couple of the long-term members took the trouble to come up afterwards and tell us how well they thought she had done. After hearing her constructive and helpful comments, I hope many of the members who have not yet submitted images to competitions will feel encouraged to “test the waters” by entering images “for comments” in the PDI and print competitions in the second half of the season so that they have opportunity to use the judge’s suggestions refine them and resubmit them to the 2023-2024 season competitions.

As usual, thanks to Mark for running the evening and doing the hard work of collating and organizing the images for the event.
