28th October 2019 – The Digital Monochrome Print – Andy Beel FRPS
Monday evening was aimed at the black and white specialists among us and, as expected, there was an excellent representation from our Monoists SIG. In the first half Andy showed us a large selection of his prints and the thinking behind them. Over the years he has become ever keener to make his images less realistic and more atmospheric. He has recently started to use split toning more. A very interesting set of prints with much to perplex a traditional judge!
In the second half he showed how he achieves his results using Photoshop but nowadays mostly in Lightroom. I’m sure we all learnt something from the evening. Andy does a lot of training and workshops plus he writes an interesting blog.
